Living in Maple: a Home Buyer’s Guide

Dec 30, 2019 / Community

For Vaughan home buyers seeking the ideal neighbourhood, Maple should be near the top of the list. This charming community is all about affordable real estate, fantastic schools, easy commutes, and amenities galore. If that weren’t enough, Maple is also steeped in natural beauty (just visit one of its many parks for proof). Given the incredible benefits of living in the area, it’s no wonder so many families decide to settle down here.

If you’re considering a move to Maple, here’s what you should know about the community…

Top-notch amenities

If it’s a convenient lifestyle you’re after, you’ll find it in Maple. Living in the area means having everything you need in your own backyard, so you can forget about driving halfway across the city to visit the pediatrician or have your teeth cleaned. Upper Thornhill Centre, located on Mackenzie Major Drive W, is a hub for medical and dental services.

Those seeking local eats are also in luck, since there are some fantastic dining spots in Maple. Favourites include Big Bone BBQ and Wicked Wings (for tender ribs and saucy chicken) and 9baci (home to some of the best pizza in the city).

Of course, no list of amenities would be complete without retail hotspots. While there are plenty of hidden gems to explore in the area (from bakeries to florists), Vaughan Mills is the crown jewel. This mall, which is the largest in York Region, is just a few minute’s drive away for most Maple residents.

Local attractions

From Canada’s Wonderland to Kortright Centre for Conservation, Vaughan is known for its fun, kid-friendly attractions. Maple is no exception. Thanks to its many green spaces, this idyllic pocket of the city is perfect for families who love the great outdoors.

North Maple Regional Park is a clear favourite. Phase one of this impressive, 900-acre space has been completed, and it’s drawing visitors from across the city and beyond. Then there’s the Vaughan Sportsplex II, where you’ll find a multi-purpose field, rink, and other facilities. This is a great place to get active—or hold a dream birthday party for your little ones.

If you’re interested in hitting the links, Maple Downs Golf & Country Club is the place to do it. The courses, tennis courts, pool, and clubhouse are all top-notch!

Your commute

From Maple, getting around Vaughan is a breeze. The community is served by local (YRT) buses, as well as rapid transit. Two GO Stations (Maple and Rutherford) connect to the Barrie train line, which provides service to the GTA. Motorists are just a short drive from Highway 400.

The homes

There’s no doubt that Maple is a charming place to call home. What many prospective buyers don’t know is that the local housing market is also full of opportunities.

Whether you’re looking for a condo, townhouse, or single-family home, you’ll find it here. There’s a good supply of both historic and new-build properties in the area, many of which are available at affordable price points. With the number of local options available, it’s no wonder so many Vaughan home hunters end their search in Maple!
